Release a Statement
What is a statement?
A statement is an official recognition of an event or stance made by a person or organization, and typically professes the official opinion or reaction of said person or organization. Organizations release statements to assuage the public’s query into what it thinks of a particular happening; statements may also express a want or need. A statement can accompany a relation or proclamation (see the sample statement below).
What should be included in a statement?
Statements oftentimes include a title, the date, a location at the beginning. A topic sentence summarizes the purpose of the statement’s publishing. Depending on the matter, statements can include facts or a recounting of events, background information, and quotes attributed to organization heads. A statement should be clear about the official position or sentiment.
