Community Endorsers

Unified Deism Community:

Although Deism is not as well known as the Humanist and Atheist movements, Deists represent a diverse and rapidly growing segment of freethinkers. Thomas Jefferson, himself a Deist, not only made the case for the separation of Church and State, but also for reason. He said, “Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear.” The Unified Deism Community believes very much in these core principles, expressed so eloquently by Founding Fathers such as Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, and Benjamin Franklin. Please accept our endorsement of your efforts to promote a National Day of Reason along with our commitment to publicize it in our Community’s blogs, official videos, discussion forums, and online conferences. We look forward to working with you on this important effort.

Freethinking groups across the country are organizing something strikingly visual to honor the National Day of Reason 2014 in a unified way, so as to generate media attention. We will visibly participate in a common theme across the country on May 1, 2014, in addition to our unique local efforts. You will receive support on how to issue a media-ready Press Release, how to get Proclamations, and other ways we can show the public we are organized and everywhere. Be part of the national movement next year. Be seen. Attract the media, and learn how to best prepare for that. If you are a group organizer or otherwise wish to help this effort, write sacffrf (at) gmail (dot) com to be invited into the closed Facebook group organizing this – please provide your name, city & state, and affiliations; and mention NDOR 2014 so I know you’re not just joining our local sacffrf group. Please send this message to any groups or organizations you know about, so they can join, too. I have spoken to AHA (NDOR originators), and they are behind us. Let’s organize.
