The Omaha Coalition of Reason has received proclamations from Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman and Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle officially declaring May 3rd, 2012 as a Day of Reason in the great state of Nebraska and in the City of Omaha.

We hope you will help us celebrate The National Day of Reason by joining us for dinner and a reading of the official proclamations, after which they will be available for your inspection. Also, be sure to bring your camera and get your photo taken holding the proclamations to share on your Facebook and/or Google+ social pages. Let’s spread the word that, for the ever-growing “non-religious” percentage of the United States population, the first Thursday in May will only be celebrated as The National Day of Reason!

We’re asking that each of you attending our National Day of Reason Dinner Celebration please bring a food item or a cash donation for delivery to the Omaha Food Bank.  Let’s demonstrate the power of reasonable action over superstitious prayer!    These are the most needed items from the Food Bank of the Heartlands website:

Canned Tuna
Macaroni & Cheese
Canned Chicken
Peanut Butter
Pancake Mix
Green Beans
Boxed Potatoes
Rice
Spaghetti
Canned Peaches
Cookies
Monetary Donations
