Stand up for reason!  Be a champion of science with compassion in our pursuit of the common good.  Join fellow humanists, atheists, secularists and freethinkers at our annual Day of Reason Celebration—co-sponsored by Humanists of MN and MN Atheists. Let’s come out in force and show our legislators that lots of Minnesotans care about church-state separation and an evidence-based approach to public policy.

Shawn Otto, internationally renowned author, science writer and advocate, will be our featured speaker. His new book, The War on Science, will be released in early June.  Compassion and Choices advocates will also be speaking on their initiative to pass aid-in-dying legislation here in Minnesota.  And we will hear from a few of our elected representatives who are ready to speak out for reason.

The National Day of Reason was instituted by the American Humanist Association in response to the ever-increasing encroachment of religious dogma in public policy decision-making and as a counterpoint to the National Day of Prayer held on the first Thursday of May each year.  For many years, MN Atheists and Humanists of MN have been rallying at the capitol on this day to draw attention to the growing secular movement.

Please join us to defend reason and the separation of church and state!  Spread the word.  Bring a friend.

Several parking options are available around the capitol.  Light rail stops are two blocks from the capitol lower mall. Or check here for bus schedules.
